When Hard Work Pays Off!
At every class, we coach our students to train with Black Belt Excellence. That means putting forth 100% effort in everything they do. But, did you know our instructors train with Black Belt Excellence too? They know that focus and dedication pay off! This month we recognize some honorable accomplishments right here among our staff!
Congratulations to Master Harrison for his nomination and acceptance into the Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Honor Society! Many great martial artists have lost the chance to tell their life story. The Who’s Who in the Martial Arts book preserves and shares martial artists’ journey with the world. This autobiographical publication serves as a history book for today’s martial artists. Master Harrison’s story will be shared among Legends in martial arts to inspire others to become martial artists. He accepted this very special award in Washington DC on August 4th.
We also want to recognize our very own Mr. Andrew for an honorable accomplishment! Mr. Andrew has dedicated himself this past year to learning extreme martial arts, also known as “tricking.” Many hours of practice and determination have paid off! Mr. Andrew has landed some national records and world records for some of these very complicated moves. He has become so recognized in the tricking world that he was welcomed as a special guest to this year’s Trickstrong Gathering in Long Island, NY the weekend of July 28-30. The event included trick battles, biggest trick displays, tricking sessions, and a tour of the city. Mr. Andrew also served as a judge for some of the competitions. He says, “A lot of people came up to me and wanted pictures and stuff. It was a really great time.” Mr. Andrew tells us that many of his life goals have revolved around tricking, and this was a great opportunity to get his name out there, in hopes to be invited to other tricking gatherings. Congratulations on reaching your goals, Mr. Andrew! You have inspired many of our students here at TM Martial Arts!

As we head into Fall, we will offer an enhanced lineup of classes! Make sure you become familiar with all the class options available to you. Fall Schedule goes into effect August 28th. You can view the new Fall Schedule HERE! As always, your instructors are happy to answer all your questions along the way!
Little Ninja News!
Our Little Ninja classes are growing by leaps and bounds! So, we have made some adjustments to the program to accommodate all of our little future black belts. Please check out this month’s Ninja Newsletter for more info. These awesome new benefits will go into effect the week of August 28th.
Wear Your Full Uniform!
Summertime uniforms are a little more relaxed here at TM Martial Arts. We allow students to wear t-shirts to keep them cool in the summer heat. But starting September 1st, all students will return to FULL UNIFORM. So pull out your dobak, wash and iron it, and get ready to rock your full uniform starting September 1st!
We Are Adding A Focus Of The Month!
Taekwondo Students! You are already familiar with our Words of the Week and Leadership Club Skill of the Month. In September we will also add a NEW feature to all levels of Taekwondo curriculum. Classes will have a Focus of the Month! That means, all your curriculum will be taught with a fun twist. Some examples of Focus of the Month are “Speed,” “Timing,” and “Teamwork.” Stay tuned for more…
New Testing Procedure!
Parents! Keep an eye out for a special Belt Testing email the first week of September, outlining important belt testing info. From that point on, we will communicate all belt testing info (ie: belt level curriculum, testing application, promotion requirements, testing dates and times) via email. It will be chalk full of very important information, so make sure you don’t miss it! If you don’t receive the belt testing email first week of September, please call Ms. Karis to double check your contact info in our system. (815) 254-6141
